Have a nice day
Nina Pillai
Personally I think of milk as white poison but this overdose of hype does get my goat. The changing trend of milk fashion is almost as trend-setting as rising hemlines. In the '70s it was tin milk, the '80s breast milk was in for babies, but milk was out for any self-respecting diet-conscious femme fatale. Depending on the ad man's fantasy and the colour of the green bucks the milk industry was willing to spend, milk has had a meteoric fashion rise and a sharp decline. Now that milk is `in', milk moustaches are fashion statements made by the likes of Madonna, Naomi, Magic Johnson et al.America is the land where to dream is making a capital realisation of it. `If I were a rich man' is the most dreamt of line. And voila! You achieve it! Even I bought a ticket for the $ 85 million, my dream turned sour but some workers from the back of beyond have realised their dream. God forbid that if you don't dream or want to be rich, the shrinks will go out of business. You'll probably still get rich byenjoying the `15 minutes of fame' psyche. You can grab a headline one way or the other and a willing media play up every innocuous happening. Tongue-in-cheek, I add that I'm a near convert to this big, bigger, best philosophy. I have had a lot of fun this trip and will gladly share some of the more savvy soirees I attended in some future column. If life is a learning experience then I was on a learning roll that overshot the earning curve leaving me breathless. Here's to this land of plenty, have a nice day!
