Devinder Singh appointed city Youth Akali Dal president

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 22: The Youth Akali Dal today appointed Devinder Singh as the president of the its Chandigarh unit. The appointment was made by the Youth Akali Dal president Karnail Singh Panjauli.

Devinder Singh, who shot into limelight following the hijacking of an aircraft after Operation Bluestar, was released from prison in 1986. He is closely associated with fellow hijacker, Amrinder Singh, who is one of the seven vice-presidents of the party.
