One Thousand five hundred pouches of liquor seized

PANCHKULA, JUNE 22: Panchkula Police recovered 1,500 pouches of liquor from a Maruti car yesterday, when it was stopped for checking at the Mauli Police Post near Raipur Rani. The accused including Subhash, Satpal and Raj Kumar, all residents of Naraingarh, have been arrested by the police. The accused said they used to purchase the pouches for Rs 7 each and then sell them for Rs 15 each in Naraingarh. A case under the Excise Act has been registered against them.In a separate case, the police also recovered 12 bottles of liquor from one Karam Singh, a resident of Chandimandir. He has been arrested and a case under the Excise Act has been registered against him. In yet another case, 24 bottles of liquor were recovered from a three-wheeler.
