A division bench yesterday granted an interim stay order and asked the State to file a counter affidavit before June 29.

The petitioners alleged that the Government's order to demolish the prawn gheris in Chilka was arbitrary, unreasonable and violative of the Constitution. Four persons had died recently in police firing at Sorana in connection with the demolition of prawn gheris in the lake.
