Cops fail to file chargesheet -- 4 released on bail

PUNE, JUNE 27: The four accused in the Tata Finance shoot-out case have been released on bail by the court as no chargesheet was filed by the police within the stipulated time frame.

Ganesh Suryakant Sawant (27), Peter Rajmani George (28), Shridhar Nagmani Maddo (28) and Shambhunadar Sundarraj (28) were released by the court last week. The four allegedly belong to Ashwin Naik gang in Mumbai. The court has ordered them to report to Deccan Police station until a chargesheet is filed against them by police. The accused sprayed bullets on the Tata Finance officers Raghuveer Kelkar and Shrikant Hardikar near Apte Road on March 22 when the two were proceeding to deposit cash of Rs 2.27 lakh in the bank. The accused fled with the money. but were nabbed by the cops.
