Two dacoits held at Andheri

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
MUMBAI, JUNE 29: The crime branch's unit IX arrested two dacoits from J B Nagar, Andheri on Monday. Police laid a trap around J B Nagar. At around 5 pm, two men were seen getting off a rickshaw. They were asked to surrender, and were identified as Ekhlakh Shaikh and Sachin Shinde. Said senior police inspector Arun Awate, the duo confessed to their involvement in robberies in the jurisdiction of the L T Marg police station, of cash and valuables worth Rs 2,64,000 and in V P Road police station area of 40 kgs of silver. Shaikh was earlier convicted for robbery and has served time for five years in prison.

In another operation, Unit-IX officers arrested two housebreakers, Somnath Sonavane and Santosh Jadhav and recovered five computer monitors worth Rs 35,000.
