Moves to check jaundice

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, June 29: Even as 34 cases of jaundice have so far been detected after the death of two persons in Jabugam of Jetpurpavi taluka of the district during the last week, the Panchayat department has made elaborate arrangements to check the further spread of the disease. There was no new case reported on Tuesday.

According to official information, seven teams with three medical officers and 15 para medical staff have been pressed into service who have started house-to-house survey and distribution of chlorine tablets to the villagers. The local Panchayat has also made arrangement of drinking water through tankers to the two affected localities, though the report of water sample taken from a well and a overhead tank is still awaited.

District Development Officer Anju Sharma informed that an ambulance had also been provided at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at the village and the situation was minutely monitored on day-to-day basis.
