NEW DELHI, JUNE 30: Reflecting the recent up-trend in the international oil market, natural gas price in India was today increased by 15.32 per cent at Rs 2499 per 10,000 kilo calorie/standard cubic meters (kcal/scm) for the quarter beginning tomorrow.The general consumer price of natural gas during April-June this year was Rs 2167 per 10,000 kcal/scm.
Producer price of natural gas recorded 21.26 per cent growth during the quarter July-September this year at Rs 2224 per 10,000 kcal/scm while it was Rs 1834 during April-June this year, a Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) statement said here today.
In addition to the price fixed above transportation/service charges, royalty, taxes, duties and other statutory levies would be payable by the consumer as applicable, the statement said.
It said the consumer price of gas (at landfall point) is linked to price of basket of low suplhur/high sulphur fuel oils and is maintained at 75 per cent parity for 1999.
For the north-eastern states, natural gas priceboth at the producer and the consumer level recorded 22.46 per cent growth at Rs 1499 per 10,000 kcal/scm during the July-September period.
The natural gas price in north-east during April-June 1999 was recorded at Rs 1224 at 10,000 kcal/scm, the statement said.
