Three held for threatening family
Sayajigunj residents Raju Madrasi and Krishna Madrasi and Akota resident Maqsood Kapadia, who allegedly threatened to eliminate the family of the May 22 gangrape victim on Tuesday, were arrested by the Gorwa police on Wednesday. They reportedly tried to intimidate the girl's father into accepting money; when he refused, Raju apparently ordered them killed. But when the family shouted for help, the three, and a fourth unidentified person who was accompanying them, escaped. However, they were later identified and arrested.

Water supply
Residents of Alkapuri, Old Railway Station area, Priya Laxmi Mill, Gautamnagar, eastern part of Gautamnagar, Sampatrao Colony, Jetalpur village and Railway Station will not receive water on Friday evening, as the VMC will be joining a new feeder line with the line at the Wadiwadi water tank, an official spokesman said.

Train schedule
The Ahimsa Express (1095/1096) will run four days a week, while the introduction of the Jaipur-Bangalore Express (9776) Up and the Gandhidham-Delhi Express has been postponed. A railway spokesman said passengers who had booked their tickets on these trains could claim a refund from the reservation office during office hours.

NSSO survey
The National Sample Survey Organisation will begin collecting information on the employment status of individuals, consumption expenditure and the nature of working of small enterprises here from July 1.

Cattle insurance
Fat and milk suppliers to the Baroda Dairy have demanded help in insuring cows and buffaloes. At the Dairy's annual general board meeting on Wednesday, suppliers demanded the aid be increased from 30 per cent.
