Anand goes down to Garry Kasparov

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA  
CHENNAI, JUNE 30: Top seed and No 2, Air-India's Chetan Anand, in the boys' and Parul Priyadarshini, seeded No 2, will defend their singles titles in the Krishna Khaitan Memorial Junior Badminton Grand Prix to be held from July 2.

This event will also have players from other countries -- 20 from Sri Lanka, 13 from Bhutan and six from Nepal -- each with two direct entries.

Seedings

Junior boys: 1 Chetan Anand, 2 A Prithvi (AI), 3 Arup Baidya (Rlys), 4 V Diju (Ker), 5 Hemant Dugal (Del), 6 Mitesh Hazarnis (Mah), 7 Abishek Bakshi (AI) and 8 Pallav Daka (Assam).

Junior girls: 1 Divya Ramesh (AI), 2 Parul Priyadarshini (Rly),3 Kotaki Thakar (AI), Pooja Patil (Kar), 5 B N Ashwini (Kar), 6 Aditi Biswas (Kar), 7 Debashree Dey (bengal), 8 Neha Ganguly (Mah).

Sub-junior boys: 1 Ajit Phatak, 2 Amar Mohite, 3 Nishad Dravid. Girls: 1 C Jwala (Andhra), 2 Shalini Prakash, 3 Aditi Biswas and 4 B N Ashwini (all Karnataka).
