Mugdha, Trupti in badminton team for Asian tourneyCHENNAI: Mugdha Bhagwat and Trupti Murgunde from Maharashtra have been included in the eight-member team for the Junior Asian Badminton Confederation Championship at Yangoon, China from July 11 to 17.
Meanwhile, two junior players and a caoch are taking part in the IBF World Badminton Academy being held at World Rackets Centre in Kuala Lumpur (June 20 to July 3). The players are Thomas Kurian and Chetan Anand. Former National champion Vimal Kumar, the coach, has been invited as one of the instructors.

Harikrishna wins
KALAMASSERY: P Harikrishna with 7.5 points won the 11th Cusat All India Open Fide rated Chess Tournament. In the final round, Harikrishna crushed US Satheesan (5.5) of Kerala. MB Muralidharan finished second.
Jaisimha discharged
HYDERABAD: Former Test cricketer, MLJaisimha, was discharged from the Corporate Hospital on Thursday. The former Hyderabad all-rounder was admitted to the hospital on Monday due to illness.
Gurnule in squad
NAGPUR: Middle-distance athlete Madhuri Gurnule has been included in the Indian squad for the International Circuit meets to be held at Nagarkoil, Thiruvananthapuram, Bangalore and Chennai next month.
