Over 200 players from all over the country are expected to take part in the tournament. Players like Gokhale brothers Chandrashekhar (Indian Airlines) and Jayant (Bharat Petroleum), Prathamesh Mokal, RB Ramesh (Indian Oil, Chennai), Sharad Tilak, V Hegde (both from Union Bank, Banglore), former under-10 world champion P Harikrishna of Andhra Pradesh and V Konguvel (Tamil Nadu) have confirmed their participation.

A total prize money of Rs 2 lakh will be at stake, with the winner being richer by Rs 55,000, while the runners-up and third-placed players receiving Rs 35,000 and Rs 21,000, respectively. Entries close on July 5.
