CHENNAI, JULY 1: Former Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha has refused to accept a private notice ordered by the Madras High Court on a revision petition from the State Government, challenging the order of Special Court-II that discharged Jayalalitha and her erstwhile Cabinet colleague V R Nedunchezhiyan from the `multi-crore coal import case'.V Radhakrishnan, Judge of the Special Court, while passing orders on the petitions from Jayalalitha and Nedunchezhiyan, had discharged them from the case. Aggrieved, the State preferred the present revision petition.
When the petition came up before Justice S Thangaraj last week, the judge permitted the prosecution (CB CID) to issue a private notice.
When the matter came up again before the judge today, the counsel for prosecution said that Jayalalitha had declined to accept the notice. Nedunchezhyian, however, accepted the notice.
After ordering a court notice to Jayalalitha, the judge adjourned the matter till July 16.
