LUCKNOW, July 1: With hostilities between the two neighbouring countries in the Kargil sector not showing any signs of an early end, the Indian army has initiated a major recruitment drive for soldiers. A week-long recruitment rally is scheduled to be held at Dehra Dun from tomorrow.Earlier, the Army's recruitment cell had urged the state government to provide accommodation, security and other facilities for the aspiring soldiers. Accordingly, the government has issued a directive to the District Magistrate.
``We take care of transport, accommodation, security and also publicise that a recruitment rally is being conducted. Officials of the armed forces do the remaining work,'' Mamraj Singh, special secretary and nodal officer of the recruitment rally told The Indian Express.
