Industrial survey begins in Vadodara

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, July 1: As part of an unprecedented Statewide survey, the District Industries Centre has started checking up on industrial units of the district, an official release said on Thursday.

Announcing that the initiative follows a recent survey of small-scale industries and appealing to industrialists to cooperate with the survey officials, the release said that the data gathered would be used to formulate a more pragmatic approach towards industrialisation and development in the State in the future.

As of now, the State has more than 2,000 medium and large-scale industries and more than 2.25 lakh small units. The survey will help determine the exact number of operational units, their investments, location, number of jobs generated, export situation, availability and consumption of electricity and water and various other facets.
