EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, JULY 2: In the 57th encounter this year, a top Chhota Shakeel aide who was wanted in the killings of two Bhartiya Janata Party MLAs was killed at Goregaon.

Thirty-two-year-old Javed Sayed alias Soni, a Shakeel aide and close associate of serial killer Feroz Konkani, walked into a trap laid at Picnic spot near Aarey Colony at Goregaon. The team, led by senior police inspector Gaikwad of the Dharavi police station, allegedly asked Soni to surrender. Instead, Soni allegedly fired back, and was fatally injured in the ensuing shootout. He was taken to Cooper Hospital at Andheri, where he was declared dead on admission.
