Wars do not respect anybody, neither the aggressor nor the unwilling participant. This time, Pakistan is the aggressor but they should realise that even they will be crushed under the burden of what they have started.India has made the right decision by not crossing the Line of Control in retaliation since two wrongs don't make a right. It will only aggravate the situation. Hopefully, the Pakistani Government will see sense and realise the nobility of this gesture because if we cross the Line of Control, we can cut off their supplies and regain our land in no time.
The international relations rest solely on trust. The Lahore bus journey symbolised that trust from India but Pakistan has betrayed it.
It has negated all the small gains of Lahore and pushed the relationship to the brink of collapse. Every injury takes time to heal. This will be the case with India's future relations with Pakistan. It is not going to mend so soon.
The economy of neither country can support a war. So it is hightime that both countries sat across the table and talked things over. It may seem too simplistic but that is the only solution. But for this to happen, Pakistan has to withdraw its troops first.
Too many lives have been lost already, too many families shattered. And as the two countries decide the next course, it is the responsibility of all of us to pledge our support to the families of all the martyred men not only monetarily but also from the heart.
