Two held for selling fake jewellery

MUMBAI, JULY 3: Two persons were arrested in connection with selling fake jewellery to a housewife at Ulhasnagar on Friday evening. According to police, Bharthi Tora purchased gold ornaments worth Rs 25,000 from Raju Marwadi and Gabbar Solanki on Thursday. When she went home and examined the items, she found them to be fake, police added.

Following a complaint lodged with the Ulhasnagar police, two men were arrested from their residence at Prabhat Nagar, Kalyan. In an another incident, three persons were arrested when they robbed ball-bearings worth Rs 12,000 from the Premier Rubber Factory at Manpada near Dombivali between July 1 and 2.

The robbery took place at between 11 pm on July 1 and 5 pm the next day.The police arrested Achal Chawrasiya (28), Mohammed Rafiq Khan (21) and Aftab Choudhary (22) from Suchak Nagar in Kalyan in this connection. A search has been launched for two other accomplices, Narayan Marwadi and Jiten Marwadi.
