Commuters held for beating cops

MUMBAI, JULY 4: Six commuters were arrested on Saturday on for beating three railway constables in a Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus-bound local train. The accused Ashwin Shan, Bababjit Chheda, Jagdish Joshi, Jagdipbhai Damodia, and two more were playing cards on a local train from Mulund to CST when three railway police constables, Sanjiv Pawar, More, and R P Jadhav, accosted them near Kurla and told them that it was a crime to play cards under Section 145 (c) of the Railway Act.A fracas soon followed, and the accused overpowered the cops and beat them up.
