Suicide attempt fails
One Bhupesh Chimanlal Shah, a resident of Mehta Pole under City Police Station, made an unsuccessful bid to end his life by consuming DDT on Saturday evening. According to the police, Mehta had been suffering from tuberculosis for the last eight months and became disillusioned with life because he could not recuperate despite treatment. He attempted suicide to escape the suffering. A case has been registered and investigations started.

Bag stolen
Sulaben Prakash Bakhshi, an Ellora Park resident, has complained to the Raopura police that a bag belonging to her daughter Madhuben was stolen from the Surgery Department of SSG Hospital. The bag contained a notebook, a pair of glasses, and some medical diagnostic equipment.
