Gathering in support for Govt over Kargil crisis

PUNE, June 4: Citizens from all walks of life will gather at Garware College on Tuesday evening to express their solidarity with the government facing the Kargil crisis.

The programme will be spearheaded by veteran BJP leader Dr Arvind Lele who initiated this movement to express support to the armed forces and the government in this crisis. According to Dr S B Mazumdar, founder director of Symbiosis society, ``We have also collected around 60 signatures to express our support. This programme will be attended by people from all walks of life to show their solidarity with the men in uniform and the government.''

The function will be attended by a number of prominent citizens and intellectuals from the city. The vice chancellor of the University of Pune, Dr. Arun Nigavekar will preside over the function. The programme will commence at 6 pm on Tuesday, July 6.
