The body of 11-year-old Hitesh Khemchand Patel, a resident of Lakadganj, was noticed in an open well near the school by some residents of the nearby slums. They immediately informed the police who fished out the body of with the help of fire brigade authorities. The body has been sent for autopsy.

The Sadar Police, investigating the case said, that though prima facie the death of Patel appears to be an accident, investigation is being done to ascertain whether it could have been a suicide.

Police said, they have enough grounds to believe the death was a suicide.

According to sources, Hitesh who had attended the school on Saturday was missing since Saturday afternoon, the time when Hitesh's father was summoned by one of the school teachers.

When Hitesh did not return home by late Saturday evening, the familylodged a complaint with the local police station.
