VADODARA, JULY 5: The M S University's first year BA results, which the university had promised to release by the first week of July, are still to be declared following the burning of computer cables four days ago.``No tabulation could be done since the cables had burnt,'' said an examination section official. He added that the second year commerce results could not be declared for the same reason.
``The results have already been prepared and submitted by faculty officials but marksheets could not be made,'' he said.
The examinations for both Arts and Commerce had been held in the first week of May. ``The results for the undergraduates of both the faculties are generally declared by mid-June,'' he added.
Officials said that the results were declared at that time so that second year students could begin attending classes and it was easier for the administration to plan first year admissions.
``If the results are delayed it would also mean problems in determining the faculty strength,'' said the officials. Arts faculty dean Maya Shah said ``There might not be much delay in the academic schedule,''. She added that first year classes generally began in the first week of August, hence even if the results were declared by the week-end it would not pose a problem for teachers.
