Fraud case
The City police registered a case of fraud against two persons on the complaint of one Anil Bhusad, resident of Karelibaug, who alleged he had been sold fake National Savings Certificates for Rs 20 lakhs. The NSCs have been certified to be fake by a local post office.House burgled
Roopchand Bharmal, resident of Varasia, lodged a complaint with the City police station on Monday that some burglars on Saturday broke into his house located near the ring road and decamped with valuable worth Rs 96,000. The complainant said that the stolen goods included 32 tolas of gold. Police have registered a case and the probe is on.
Mopeds stolen
Two vehicles were reported to have been stolen from the city since Saturday, the police said. In the first case, a Luna moped (GJ 6 N 6154) was lifted by some miscreants from the parking lot opposite Indian Overseas Bank near Mehta Park. In the second case, another Luna moped (GJ-6-LL-6931) was stolen from the parking space in front of the Ashish Gallery, a shop on the Raopura Road. Investigations are on.
Two thefts
Vipul O Trivedi, a resident of C-29, Chanakyapuri on New Sama Road, has complained to the police that iron scrap worth Rs. 1,000 was stolen from his autorickshaw (GJ-6-X-9113) that was parked outside his house on Sunday night. In another case of theft, 50 metres of electric cable wire worth Rs. 11,000 was stolen by some unknown persons from Akhadanand Park on Vasna Road. The police have registered cases and started investigations.
