Search for lost girls' parents starts in Surat

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SURAT, JULY 5: Based on a message from the Vadodara city police control room, the city police have begun inquiries about the parents of two girls aged four and one, who were found by the Vadodara police.

A message received by the Surat city police control on Monday morning said that Anita Thakorebhai (4) and her younger sister Divyabharati Thakorebhai (18 months), who were found from beside the Kashi Vijaynath Mahadev Mandi at Fatehgunj, were saying that they were residents of the Amroli Road area of Katargam here.

The Katargam police however told Express Newsline that they had not received any complaint in the past year where two girls aged four and 18 months were missing. The Varachha police have now been asked to check records of missing persons as the elder girl has also mentioned that they are from Varachha. Amroli falls under the Katargam police station. The police added that while the younger sister is too small to talk, the elder has not been able to provide the exact address in Surat or say how they landed up beside the temple in Vadodara.

While Anita is wearing a pink dress, Divyabharati is wearing a white and red dress. Both girls are currently in the Vadodara police's custody.
