No separate education for tribals yet

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NASHIK, JULY 6: Despite the State Government's claims of unprecedented decisions for tribal welfare and a decision announced in the winter session of the State Legislature last year, the separate education wing to monitor tribal ashram schools in the State has not been formed.

According to the Government decision, the education wing was to start functioning from the current academic year 1999-2000, to monitor the quality of education being imparted in 410 Government ashram schools and 315 aided ashram schools in the State.

But, the ashram schools have opened for the new academic year and their education is still under the control of a deputy Tribal Development commissioner.
