NEW DELHI: In a major decision aimed at revamping the telecom industry, government today allowed the existing telecom operators to shift to revenue sharing system introduced in the new telecom policy in March last.
FM privatisation
NEW DELHI: In a move that would double the FM network in the country, the government today approved private participation in the FM radio broadcasting services. The decision would open nearly 150 new FM channels with licenses being given to private operators in 40 cities.
$ 386 WB loan
NEW DELHI: India today secured the first major $ 386 million World Bank loan after economic sanctions following the Pokhran nuclear tests in May last year. Agreements were signedfor a $ 300 million loan for integrated women and child development projects.
