Tripura Cong MLA demands PCC chief's ouster

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, JULY 6: Recalcitrant Congress MLA from Tripura Ratan Lal Nath has asked party president Sonia Gandhi to sack Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Gopal Roy for his alleged ignorance of ground realities in the State leading to a weak Congress position for the coming panchayat elections in Tripura.

In a four-page letter to Sonia, dated July 1, the second from him in three weeks, Nath has charged Roy with taking unilateral decisions and hurting the party's image just before the panchayat polls. Nath alleges that because of Roy's ``ignorance'', the Congress failed to allot forms to candidates in over 700 seats leaving them uncontested in favour of the Left Front.

Nath also said his letters were being leaked to the media from 10, Janpath.
