High time Pakistan withdrew, says PM
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has welcomed the joint statement issued by US President Bill Clinton and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

In a major success in the Batalik sector, the Army recovered the Jubar Hills. Lying close to the LoC, the capture of the Jubar Hills has been the biggest triumph of the Indian forces in the sector.

US hopes Sharif will honour deal
The Clinton administration is optimistic Pakistan will abide by its commitment to withdraw intruders who have crossed the LoC despite post-agreement statements from some of its leaders seeking to repudiate, distort, or broadbase the deal.
