Box for Kargil fund at EME
Vadodara:
All citizens or organisations desiring to contribute for the families of soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Kargil, Drass and Batalik fronts can deposit their crossed demand drafts or cheques made in favour of `Secretary, Army Central Welfare Fund-Indian Army,' payable at New Delhi. The names and postal address should be written on the reverse for issue of income tax exemption certificate. A special box for this purpose is kept near the gate of Nirdesh, HQ EME School Vadodara, opposite Convent of Jesus and Mary School at Fatehgunj.

BUTA to contribute one-day salary
The members of the Baroda University Teachers Association (BUTA) have urged the M S University to deduct one day's salary or more from the salaries of teachers by taking their individual consent and remit the sum toward the Prime Minister's Kargil Aid Fund.

WWA pays homage to jawans
Working Women Association of the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) on Thursday organised a programme to pay homage to jawans who have laid down their lives fighting on the border. Members of the WWA who met under the chairpersonship of Saguna Bhatt, wife of Board chairman Nalin Bhatt, decided to donate a day's salary and raise more fund. WWA president Geeta Patel also remained present.

Bajrang Dal holds solidarity march
Surat:
More than 200 Bajrang Dal activists on Thursday marched from the Railway station to Vivekanand statue, to express solidarity with the army jawans fighting the Pakistani intruders and raised anti-Pakistan slogans. At Vivekanand statue the activists held a brief public meeting. The Dal also presented a cheque for Rs 50,000 to Laljibhai Sharma, father of army jawan Umesh Sharma who died in an explosion in Chandigarh on Sunday.

RPI to take out mashaal yatra
The Republican Party of India will organise a Shahid Amarjyot Mashaal Yatra on Saturday at 7 p.m. The yatra will start from Ambedkar statue, pass through Ring road and terminate at Sardar Vallabhbhai's statue at the Railway station. Party activists will also burn Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in effigy at the old fort grounds.

Panchayat staff body's gesture
The Gujarat Rajya Panchayat Karmachari Mahasangh has decided to give one-day's salary to the Kargil relief fund. Three lakh members of the sangh will donate Rs 7 crore. The cheque will be handed over to Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel.
