Rakesh Singh appointed Chief Electoral Officer

CHANDIGARH, July 9: The Chandigarh Administration has appointed Rakesh Singh as the Chief Electoral Officer of the Union Territory. He would hold the charge of CEO in addition to his present duties.According to sources, the letter appointing him as CEO was received from the Election Commission here today. He was earlier appointed as CEO last week, but all the departments were taken away from him then. The Chandigarh Administration had then refused to implement the orders and represented against the order with the Election Commission, which has now been accepted.
