CHANDIGARH, July 9: The alliance between All India SADand the Bahujan Samaj party has been finalised following a meeting between Gurcharan Singh Tohra and Kanshi Ram in Delhi recently.Tohra met the BSP supremo in Delhi before leaving for a short tour of Canada and USA. The two leaders would jointly address a AISAD convention at Patiala on July 17 next. AISAD member Prem Singh Chandumajra, former MP, told mediapersons that talks were also going on with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Bharatiya Kisan Union, both Bhupinder Singh Mann and Ekta factions and Lok Bhalai Party, led by former Union minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia. He said the AISAD was also trying to rope in the Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) to constitute Lok Shakti Morcha to confront the Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party combine and the Congress in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
He claimed that the main contest would be between the AISAD and its allies and the Congress with the Shiromani Akali Dal -BJP combine having been relegated to the third position.
The AISAD is expecting realignment of forces in Punjab with the feudals represented by leaders like Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Pradesh Congress chief Amarinder Singh and former chief minister and Congress leader Harcharan Singh Brar on one side, confronted by the working classes and the organisations committed to Akal Takht on the other side.
``It would be Raj Shakti versus Lok Shakti in the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab,'' said Chandumajra. The AISAD would strive for understanding with the Sikh organisations committed to Akal Takht, the supreme temporal authority of the community.
He lambasted the Shiromani Akali Dal -BJP combine for the fiscal crisis in the state, with the treasuries virtually closed for the last 10 days.
