PUNE, JULY 9: The third edition of the Sushant Chipalkatti Memorial Maharashtra Junior State Selection badminton championship featured one sided matches at the WIE Complex in Pune today.Unseeded Amit Singh and Neha Wad of Mumbai Suburban in the junior girls' singles and Amodi Borkar in sub-junior girls' and Amita Dahinje of Pune in the midget girls' singles section shared the limelight recording impressive wins respectively.
Singh downed unseeded Nikhil Lokhande of Pune 15-10, 8-15, 15-6 and made the second round of the junior boys' singles. Neha beat Shivani Mayekar of Greater Mumbai 11-7, 1-11, 11-6 in a long drawn tussle. Borkar rallied to pip Vishkha Nimbalkar of Pune 10-13, 11-9, 11-2. In the midget girls', Amita Dahinje of Pune beat Pune's Sanmya Padhya of Mumbai Suburban 11-8, 8-11, 11-3 in under 25 minutes.

BANGALORE: Jason Xavier of Life Insurance Corporation and Guruprasad of Bank Sports Board stormed into the finals with contrasting victories in the VIII All-IndiaInter-institutional badminton championships.
In the women's section, the finals will be an all LIC affair with Divya Ramesh and Leena Pedankar winning their semi-final encounters.
