Jawan to be cremated at Nayagaon; another succumbs to injuries

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
CHANDIGARH, JULY 11: The mortal remains of an Army jawan, Havaldar Bikram Singh who was killed while fighting the intruders in the Kargil sector, will be consigned to flames at Nayagaon village adjoining the Punjab Engineering College (PEC) tomorrow.

His body is being brought here by road tonight. Punjab Chief Minister, Prakash Singh Badal is expected to attend the funeral. Meanwhile, the body of an Army Jawan, Naik Dalip Kumar, killed in artillery shelling in Siachen, was airlifted here today. His body will be sent to his native place near Bijapur tomorrow.

Belonging to 6 Guards, he was injured while stationed on the Northern Glacier last night. However, he could not be evacuated at that time and was brought to the base camp this morning, where he succumbed to his injuries.
