Consumer court penalises PAL

NEW DELHI, JULY 18: A delhi consumer court has penalised car maker Premier Automobiles Ltd (PAL) for not refunding booking amount for its 'Fiat Uno' brand of car to a customer after cancellation and directed it to pay penal interest for the same.Delhi District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-6 has directed PAL to refund the deposited amount along with nine per cent interest from the date of booking (9.2.96) to date of cancellation (3.12.96) . The court also also ordered it to pay 15 per cent interest from 4.12.96 till the actual payment. Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
