PUNE, JULY 18: Dr G U Malewar, head of the department of agricultural chemistry and soil sciences from the Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, and Dr K L Chadha, professor at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Delhi, have been selected for the ``life-time achievement award'' for the third S N Ranade Memorial award for excellence in the field of micronutrient research.Both Malewar and Chadha will be receiving a cash award of Rs 101,001 and a citation. Dr S P Singh, a senior scientist at Punjab Agricultura University Ludhiana, and Dr S D Shikhamany, director, National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune, have been selected for the ``senior scientist award''.
The award carries a cash award of Rs 51,001 and a citation.
Meanwhile Dr H B Raghupati, a scientist at the Indian Institute for Horticultural Research, Bangalore, and Dr A K Srivastava, scientist at the National Research Centre for Citrus, Nagpur, have been conferred with the ``junior scientist award'' carrying a cash awardof Rs 31,001 and a citation.
The scientists have been selected by a panel of jurors consisting of eminent agricultural scientists, former and present vice chancellors of agricultural universities, an official press release said.
