International school at AlibagA fully residential co-educational institution, Quest International School (QIS), will be set up at Alibag in Thane district soon.
QIS, being set up by the Quest Academy Ltd in association with International School of Geneva, will have 200 students and teachers from India and abroad.The school would follow the International Baccalaureate syllabus, recognised as equivalent to the `ten-plus-two' system of education by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and over 100 countries of the world.
The construction for the school is slated to begin in September 1999. QIS plans offer admission to the first batch of 100 students for the first year of its two-year programme in September 2000. Subsequently, the second group of 100 students would be accepted in September 2001.
Workshop for policewomen
A two-day Regional Proficiency Workshop for policewomen, organised by the Social Services branch of the state police concluded at Goregaon's St Pius Collegeon Saturday. Organised under the leadership of DIG Sridevi Goel, the workshop which focused on offences against women was attended by women police inspectors, police sub-inspectors and constables from Aurangabad, Nashik, the Konkan Range and Mumbai.

The battle of Kargil has now gone online with a two series games called `I Love India' and `Operation Vijay' -- from the stable of Fact Interactive (FI) .
