NAGPUR, JULY 19: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) would build the Ram temple at Ayodhya in two-and-half years, Parishad's president Ashok Singhal said here on Monday. The stone sculptures needed for the temple would take at least one-and-half years to be ready after which temple construction would begin, Singhal told reporters.
Workers are engaged at five places for sculpting the stones, he said. "The Ram temple issue figures in the 40-point VHP agenda," Singhal said. He added the Bharatiya Janata Party would have its own agenda besides that of the recently formed National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Over a lakh saints and seers would be touring the country to propagate VHP's agenda during the coming elections and also meet the kin of soldiers who laid down their lives in Kargil conflict, he added.
