Burglers leave with nothing
Two incidents of attempted burglary was reported from different parts of the city last night. According to the police, burglars entered Bipinbhai Sombhai Joshi's house in Adinath Society on VIP Road by removing the bedroom window grill. They broke the lock of the steel cupboard but did not steal anything. In another incident, burglars entered a house in Kadamnagar, Nizampura, by breaking the main door lock but went back without stealing anything. Investigations are on.

Road mishaps
Five people were injured in three different road mishaps in Vadodara district since last night. According to police sources, driver Raju Rathwa and conductor Chaganbhai Parmar of a ST bus (GJ 18 V 3525) going from Dabhoi to Palitana were injured when their bus had a head-on collision with a tanker coming from the opposite direction late last night. Driver Bhagwansinh Jadeja and conductor Vinodbhai Gondaliya of another ST bus going from Rajkot to Surat sustained injuries when their bus was hit by a truck near Karjan. A truck driver, Pawan Kumar Hoshiarsinh Sharma, was injured when a rear tyre of his truck deflated suddenly in Karjan, the police said.

Suicide attempt
One Bhagwandas Maljibhai Parmar, a resident of Bhayeli village, who used to work with a private firm in Mangalya Park Society under City Police Station, made a bid to end his life by consuming poison on Sunday. According to the police, he was disappointed after losing his job recently. He is undergoing treatment in SSG Hospital.
