BoB chief presents cheques
Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank of Baroda, K Kannan, presented to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee two cheques for Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh towards the National Defence Fund and the Prime Minister's Relief Fund respectively. Members of the bank's board of directors contributed to this noble cause.

NSS appeal
The NSS has appealed to all colleges to plant saplings in their respective areas between July 19 and July 26 to create awareness among people about the need for a healthy environment and beautification. Students have been advised to undertake plantation programmes along with local people.

Agro seminar
The Gujarat State Agriculture Marketing Board and the Jaipur-based National Institute of Agriculture Marketing have jointly organised a seminar on ``How to market fruits and vegetable'' on July 22. The seminar will be held at Sardar Market Yard, Surat, at 9 a.m. Senior state officials will also remain present at the seminar.

Driver's course
The Industrial Training Institute, located at Majura gate, will run an autorickshaw driver's course from August for people who have passed at least class seven. Candidates should submit application forms before July 31.
