Woman kills herself
A case registered in the Limbayat police station late on Sunday night stated that a 22-year-old married woman committed suicide by consuming two packets of Mala-D tablets on Sunday evening. Kalpana Shyamrao Bauddh, a resident of Ratnaprabha Society of Limbayat, consumed the tablets and was rushed to the New Civil Hospital, where she succumbed a few hours later. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered.

Poison death
Pushpa Chhana Sosa (42), a resident of 102 Prabhunagar area of Katargam, committed suicide by consuming poison in her house, the Katargam police said. Sosa was rushed to the Surat General Hospital where she died around Sunday midnight. The police could not record the dying declaration of the woman and are investigating further.

Hit-and-run
A person fractured a leg and had other injuries after being hit by a rickshaw at around midnight on Cinema Road, the Mahidharpura police said. Mohammedmiya Noorumiya Patangwala told the police in a complaint that he was walking on the main thoroughfare opposite Vasant theatre when he was hit by a rickshaw, whose driver fled the scene. The complainant added that the registration number of the vehicle was GJ 5 Y 4571. A case under sections of the IPC and MVA has been registered.

Thief nabbed
One of three people who attempted to break into a house on Sumul Dairy Road was nabbed and handed over to the police, while two others managed to escape on a motorcycle, the Katargam police said. Hemant Jaggu Patel, a resident of bungalow no 73, Shraddha Society, told the police that Kailash Prabhuram Chauhan, a resident of Bhopal, Ghanshyam Pandit and Pankajpal Dispal tried to break into his house on Sunday night. While Chauhan was nabbed, the other two managed to flee on a Yamaha motorcycle (GJ 5 EE 9742).
