Gowda had destroyed the concept of Janata Dal and the ideals of the late socialist Jayaprakash Narayan on which the JD was founded, Lok Shakti president Jeevaraj Alva told reporters here on Monday.

The emerging alliance of erstwhile Janata Dal constituents would be meaningful only if Gowda and his followers were kept out of the ongoing discussions, Alva said. Apparently, Alva has conveyed this sentiment to Samata Party chief George Fernandes.

Alva said that he would also be in Delhi on Tuesday to participate in discussions along with Lok Shakti chief Ramakrishna Hegde. Hegde too would rush to the Capital after cancelling his scheduled tour of Bidar and Gulbarga districts on Monday.

It was natural that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was opposed to JD's entry into the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) headed byPrime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. The alliance, however, needed leaders like Sharad Yadav and J H Patel, he said adding that "political parasites" like S R Bommai, S Jaipal Reddy and Surendra Mohan were not welcome.

Alva sent out an invitation to JD State president Siddaramaiah in the form of a `word of caution'. "Siddaramaiah should see through Gowda's game and rectify his mistake to decide his political future," he said.

Several JD workers including C M Ibrahim's sister Sufaia and JD's Kolar district president Krishnappa and State JD Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Wing's organising secretary Narasimha Raju had joined the Lok Shakti, he said.

The Lok Shakti's alliance with the BJP was "complete" and "there is no looking back," Alva added.
