19 massacred in Doda, Poonch
Nineteen persons, including six children, were massacred and six injured as militants struck again in Doda and Poonch districts of Jammu region late Monday night. An entire family of 15 was wiped out in Lihota village near Doda. This included six members of the Village Defence Committee -- four of whom were brothers -- three women and six children. Four officials of the General Road Engineering Force (GREF) were killed in Sheindara village near the Kalai bridge in Poonch district.

Attempt to recapture Tiger Hills repulsed
Indian forces today repulsed a fresh attempt by Pakistani intruders to capture the strategic Tiger Hills in Drass even as troops exchanged artillery fire after a nine-day lull. Pakistani intruders were seen moving towards Tiger Hills, overlooking the crucial Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1-A, on Tuesday morning and were backed by artillery shelling by Pakistani troops.
