Quoting the complainant, police sources said on Monday around 8 p.m., Santosh and her daughter, who is a university student, were returning home in Sector 23 from the nearby market. A youth came from behind on a cycle, grabbed the chain worn around Santosh's neck and paddled out of sight.

The police have registered a case of theft and use of assault to commit it. Police sources said that further investigations are on.
