BJP Maharashtra panel to finalise poll list on July 25

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, JULY 20: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s State election committee will meet on July 25 to finalise the list for the Lok Sabha (LS) and Assembly seats. It will forward the list to the Central election committee, which meets in New Delhi on August 2.

On the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance talks on seat swapping, both parties had agreed that Sena chief Bal Thackeray would decide on areas where disputes could not be resolved.

While the BJP is seeking to contest 15 Assembly seats held by the Sena, the Sena wants to contest in 30 constituencies held by the BJP. The BJP is contesting 117 Assembly seats and 26 LS seats, whereas the Sena is contesting in 171 Assembly seats and 22 LS seats.

The BJP is not willing to budge on the Jalgaon and Nashik LS seats, Munde said. Prominent Sena leader Suresh Dada Jain is angling for the seat.
