Ahmedabad, July 21: The Baroda police has arrested five hardcore terrorists of the Babbar Khalsa group of Punjab, and foiled their evil designs to foment trouble in the state, says director general of police C P Singh here today.He said, these terrorists -- Kalwant Singh alias Happy, Ajayab Singh Jatt, Savarjig Singh alias Sabba Darshan Singh Jatt, Ranjit Singh alias Ranajar Karnal Singh Jatt, and Jasbir Singh alias Bassa Charan Singh Sandhu -- were recently arrested by Baroda police and foreign made arms and ammunitions alongwith cash of Rs 1.36 lakh seized from them.
Singh said, during preliminary interrogations it was revealed that they had been trained by terrorist groups of Pakistan and Afghanistan on how to use RDX and other arms and ammunitions.
The DIG said, after the arrest, they had been handed over to Central investigation agencies. Later, their interrogations and investigations had led to seizure of 18 kg of RDX and huge quantity of arms and ammunitions from Punjab. The information given bythese five terrorists also helped solve many crimes committed in the past.
