NDA fallout -- Naidu rules out crisis within BJP

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
Chennai, July 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary M Venkaiah Naidu today denied reports of a `crisis' within the party following the decision of the Janata Dal faction led by Sharad Yadav to merge with the Lok Shakti and Samata Party and join the NDA.

Replying to a question from newspersons here, Naidu said there was no difference of opinion between Prime Minister Vajpayee and other BJP leaders on the issue. He said the issue was yet to be fully discussed within the party and the NDA. ``There may be difference of perception, but there is no question of any major difference of opinion cropping up over the issue", he added.

He admitted that the Karnataka BJP unit was against the inclusion of the Janata Dal in the BJP-Lok Shakti alliance. ``They have said that the Janata Dal experiment in Karnataka had failed in the last five years," he added.
