Viagra for hole-in-one

KUALA LUMPUR: A Catholic organisation will give a year's free supply of Viagra to two male golfers who score a hole-in-one in the Chequers Golf Classic Tournament.

``The prize will only be available in the men's category,'' said Dr Neville Fernandez, vice-president of the Catholic Doctors Association, the organisers of the tournament in August.

Pfizer, which manufactures Viagra, offered the prize after being approached as sponsors for the golf event which has attracted 70 entries.

Olympic scam

SYDNEY: An Australian citizen pretending to be a Thailand-based representative for Sydney Olympics organisers took more than A $ 750,000 (US $ 487,000) from Asians seeking work at next year's games, according to police.

A source with the Australian federal police said the man, born in the Philippines, conned about 200 Chinese people by running a fake SOCOG office from his Bangkok hotel room with fake identity card and letterheads.

Hakkinen wins

spielberg(Austria): Reigning Formula One champion Mika Hakkinen grabbed pole position for tomorrow's Austrian Grand Prix today. David Coulthard made it a double on the front row for McLaren-Mercedes, the Scot timing 1 minute 11.153 to his Finnish team-mate's 1:10.954 during official qualifying.The second row was made up of Ulsterman Eddie Irvine in his Ferrari (1:11.973) with German Heinz-Harald Frentzen, in a Jordan-Mugen Honda, alongside him (1:12.266).

Wembley towers

London: Wembley Stadium's famous Twin Towers are set to play no part in the new-look arena when it is rebuilt after the 2000 FA Cup final. Details of the revamped 90,000-seat stadium, the home of English football, are due to be unveiled next week and it appears the trademark structure will not be accommodated in the plans.
