TDL Q1 net up 5.6 pc

MUMBAI: Tata Donnelley Ltd (TDL) has recorded strong 19.5 per cent growth in sales in the first quarter of 1999-2000 over the corresponding quarter of the previous year. In the three months ended June 30, 1999, the company recorded a total income of Rs 17.63 crore, compared to Rs 14.89 crore in the previous year. Profits before tax were strongly up by 18.1 per cent over the corresponding period, while the net profit grew at 5.6 per cent due to a higher tax.

HSIL profits rise

MUMBAI: Hindustan Sanitaryware and Industries Ltd (HSIL) has posted an increase of 25 per cent in the net profit during the first quarter to Rs 3.5 crore over the last year's figures of Rs 2.97 crore, for the same quarter. The turnover of the company for the quarter touch Rs 41.13 crore mark, an increase of 17 per cent over the previous years figure of Rs 35.23 crore.

New BoB rates

MUMBAI: Bank of Baroda has revised the interest rates on foreign currency non-resident FCNR(B) depositsfor various maturities and different currencies.

For pound sterling, the interest for the maturity period six months to less than three years is 4.75 per cent and for three years is five per cent, a bank statement said here today. For US dollars it is 4.75 per cent for six months to less than a year and five per cent for one year to three years. In Deutschemark, it is 2.25 per cent for six months to less than one year, 2.75 per cent for one year to less than two years and three per cent for two years to less than three years.

BHEL contract

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged a contract worth over Rs 2 crore from Adtranz for supply of traction motors. The order envisages manufacture and supply of a dozen of 850 kw traction motors, repair of five sets of motors for 6000 HP 25 kv locos of ABB design.
