Financier, others held
Police have arrested four persons for allegedly forcibly taking away a car from a Sector 22 resident. Quoting the complainant, Ashwani Mittal, police sources said that he had got his Maruti car financed from a local firm. But, yesterday the financier accompanied by a few men forcibly took away his car from Sector 15.The police have registered a case and arrested Raj Kumar, Sarbjit Singh, Gamboor Singh and Harcharan Singh. They have also recovered the car.

15 tenants arrested
As many as 16 persons including a landlord and 15 tenants were arrested for not furnishing information about themselves to the police as per the orders of district magistrate. Attawa village resident Gurdev Singh was among those held.

Pickpocket held
Kumhar Colony resident Rajbir Singh alias Sethi was arrested when he allegedly tried to pick a pocket at Batra Cinema. His co-accused, Vijay Kumar of Sector 29, however, managed to escape. Police are trying to trace the accused.

Cop hit by car
A local police head constable Ranbir Singh was reportedly injured when a Maruti car bearing registration number PB-12-A-3236 hit him near the turning of Sectors 16 and 17. The car driver fledafter the accident.

Fire at Sec 46 house
A minor fire broke out in a house in Sector 46. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire in a few minutes. A scooter was reportedly damaged in the fire. The cause of fire is not yet known.

29 arrested
Police has arrested 29 persons from various parts of the city. While 23 were held for roaming under suspicious circumstances, three were nabbed for creating nuisance under the influence of liquor and two were taken into preventive custody. A Dadumajra resident, Bharat Bhushan, has been arrested in a case of rioting already registered against him sometime ago.
